Continuing Educaiton for Professionals FAQ

What are CEus (Continuing Education Units)?

Mental health practitioners, in order to maintain their license, must complete a certain number of CEUs each year. CEUs crucial for practitioners to ensure competence in evolving evidence-based practices, and provide high-quality, ethical client care.

Why does TGM offer CEUs?

Some CEUs for particular licensures and specialty areas are quite expensive and not offered locally. For this reason, TGM offers accessible and affordable Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to our Mother Tree practitioners who serve clients on a sliding-scale basis. Some of our Mother Tree practitioners are also associates, paying for supervision until they are fully licensed. We want mental wellness to be available for all members of the community, and we want our practitioners to have access to affordable education that continues to build skills and resilience.

How often are CEUs offered?

Each month, TGM provides an in-person CEU opportunity for our Mother Tree practitioners and when space is available, other mental health practitioners are invited to join. Professionals with a variety of specialized mental health training present, demonstrate, and provide experiential learning. These trainings are recorded and published on our YouTube Channel for those required to have continuing education units to maintain their license and free for anyone who wants to learn. Our online library of topics and offerings continues to grow. You can sign up for these online CEUs at anytime.

What does TGM do with the CEU fees?

TGM charges practitioners $21 per unit. The fees generated support TGM community wellness programs benefitting the community in numerous ways. Please see our latest Outcomes.
